Hi,

As I see, they allow people as young as 12 years old to apply for the card. But for this card, the annual fee is RM8. Whereas Maybank Visa Debit has no annual fee. Besides, I am not too sure which savings account Public Bank will offer you (either PB Bright Star Savings Account or Young Achiever Savings Account). Since you wanted Debit Card, I think they will introduce you the Bright Star Account, because it mentioned in the page about debit card whereas Young Star Account did not offer a debit card. In my case, I used to have PBD2D card along with a basic savings account (as I am no longer teenager). See this to read more about fees and benefits for PBD2D Card (there are pdf files links). Hope this helps. :)

Hi! Never thought that i would actually look back at my random post on other ppl's blog! :)

Juz want to add, for future reference to others (i oso want to be helpful like you! :P)

I've changed my ATM to the 'cherry' debit card type yesterday at mbb (of course RM12 charged! Btw, mine was the old yellow coloured atm card). Then i link (not verify) my cherry debit card to paypal, successful. Before that i've activated my maybank2u (dont think this action have any effect on the linking-to-paypal part).

Senang sahaja! I believe there shouldn't be any problem if i want to verify my paypal based on this debit card. Perhaps might look back again at this post in future to update. Like i've mentioned, i oso want to be helpful like you! :)

Hi cheeho0625,

I am sorry for the late reply. Since you are 15 years old, you will have to go with this imTeen Account. You are eligible to open that account. And according to the requirement for this imTeen Account, it stated:

1. Original Identity Card (IC) or birth certificate of teenage applicant
2. Parents' / Guardian's IC and other supporting documents to verify parentage or guardianship

And also it stated with an extra Note under the Requirement part:

An Indemnity Letter is a compulsory document to be signed by the parents or guardian as a condition to open a new imteen account as well as to access Internet banking facilities via Maybank2u.com and Maybankard Bankcard (ATM card). Just visit your nearest Maybank branch and bring along your original documents and parents or guardian for verification purposes.

Besides, this link, 2nd question is telling you who is eligible to apply for the Maybank Visa Debit:

For imteen Account (aged 12 to 18 years), Indemnity Letter is mandatory to be signed by the parents or guardian as a condition to open imtenn Account. The parents or guardian are required to go to the branch to sign the Indemnity Letter for access to Maybankard Visa Debit or Maybankard BankCard.

Hope this helps you :D

Hey,

No worries at all. The money will go into your bank soon. ^^ Usually take up to 1 week (for my refund cases). So should be alright. Paypal protects Ebay buyers. So whenever got problems, they will fix for you.

Hey, I am so sorry. I thought I did replied you, but now only I realised I did not. Or maybe I did, but I accidentally deleted my reply while cleaning up comments because I remember I typed things like asking you to look at the seller's reputation beside their names. In this kind of case, you will have to contact eBay. Is your case solved?

Hey,

If you made a payment via PayPal, the transaction will be shown in PayPal and shown in Maybank2u transaction history and debit card history. PayPal will show you just in a few minutes time. But Maybank will only show you your latest/newest transaction probably the next day. And please note that you usually will not able to see all transaction history from 12am-6am. For example, you buy RM20 stuff over eBay/any online shop using PayPal, once transaction done, you will see your transaction history in PayPal right after a few minutes, you will see the transaction in Maybank2u next day under transaction history and debit card history. Sometimes there's a record like "PRE AUTH". No worries, it will be returned and you will be charged again. (So your money is to be deducted, then added back to your account, then be deducted again, just contra them, you will find that your money isn't overcharged). At this point you probably do not need to understand why is it so. I will explain to you next time.

The sms alert is supposed to be for Maybank2u who alert you, not PayPal. If you did successfully register your phone number in ATM machine for Maybank2u account, you should be able to get a TAC sms whenever you are trying to pay through Maybank2u (NOTE: not PayPal, PayPal will not need TAC because PayPal is already a safe measure in terms of using money online, they are both work as security measures).

TAC is not important if you are using PayPal. PayPal does not requires your TAC. TAC works this way, for example, you wanna transfer RM100 to me using internet banking, you need to request for a TAC, an sms will be sent to you by Maybank. The sms contains a 6 digit code which you will have to fill in when you are making a transfer online. This is to make sure you are the one who ask for the transaction to be happened. Hope you understand what I mean. :) If you put me in your Favourite 3rd Party Transfer list, then you do not need to request for TAC for the next transaction (but as for the first time, you will still need TAC).

Hi welcome back,

Have you logged into your Maybank2u internet banking account using your debit card's 16 digit number and the 6 digit PIN as your password via Maybank2u Website's "First Time Login"?
