Please Note: This untethered jailbreak is currently not working for iPhone 4s and iPad 2.

STEP 1: Download Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 from here.

STEP 2: Execute Redsn0w, then click on “Jailbreak”. Here you will have to follow the instruction given on screen. Basically, you just have to make sure your iPhone 4 is off before clicking “Next”.

STEP 3: Once you click “Next”, the screen will teach you how to put your iPhone 4 into DFU mode. The following step is to put your iPhone 4 into DFU mode. Hold Sleep/Wake button for 3 seconds, then without leaving Sleep/Wake button, press the Home button and Sleep/Wake button simultaneously for 10 seconds. Then, leave Sleep/Wake button while you are still holding the Home button, for 15 seconds thereabout.

STEP 4: Let Redsn0w run by itself like the screenshots below.

STEP 5: “Install Cydia” will be ticked by default, click on “Next” and let it run by itself again.

STEP 6: At this point, your iPhone 4 and Redsn0w will look like these.

STEP 7: Then, your iPhone 4 and Redsn0w will look like these.

Your iPhone 4 will restart by itself after this. And here you go, Cydia is now in your iPhone 4. It’s that simple!

 

Additional info for new user

** Tap on “Cydia”, choose “User” when the page prompted.

** If you want to get access to those paid apps in Apps Store for free, follow the steps below to download Installous.

STEP 1: Cydia -> Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add

STEP 2: Enter the link “http://cydia.hackulo.us” and “Add Source” then “Add Anyway”.

STEP 3: After adding it successfully, go to Cydia -> Manage -> Sources -> Hackulo.us -> Installous. Install it.

STEP 4: Once it is installed, Installous will appear in your device homescreen. You can download most of those paid apps like in App Store through Installous on your device. Alternatively, you can also download .ipa files from Apptrackr from your computer, double click on the .ipa files (it will then appear in your iTunes). Sync these cracked apps into your device like how you sync as usual (You are able to do so because the required App Sync for iOS 5.0 is already installed along with Installous automatically).
